I'm in Thailand Bangkok now. I love it!

I stay in the nicest hotel and people are very friendly. I thought about you american guys today. I went to sizzlers.. an american restaurant and paid 2$ for a whole meal.

It is cheap here. I bought cds 3$ a piece and shirts, sandals, pants a portable cd player and much more. Tomorrow we'll go to the grand palace. This is the biggest temple in Bangkok.

I'm sitting at kao san road now, in an internet cafe, drinking a thai-beer.

Have you watched the beach? This is the road richard (leonardo) is going to when he first came to thailand.

(Kao San Road)

Very exciting.

I'm going to the island koh chang in 2 days and will do a scuba diving course.

I'll let you know how things are.

I just want to tell you that I'm enjoying myself and that I'm happy to be here.

I'm still in Bangkok and changed my plans. I've talked to many people and they told me to go to the diving mecca koh tao http://www.kohtao.com/ .I will leave tonight and go on a 11 hour busride and boat trip. This will be an adventure. I also arranged to go to a temple where Monks live with tigers. I love tigers and I might be able to touch them.

Last night we went to watch Thaiboxing that was very intersting. Afterwards we went to the night Bazaar but I did not buy anything. Today i just try to stay out of the heat. And wait for the night to come to go on the bus.

I will write you later about how the trip was and what it'll be like on the island.

I wonder if anybody looks this homepage up  that speaks englisch. I'm talking to Lisa, Jason, Jerry and Luke. I know that Ray, Scott and Erwin have contacted me before. What are you doing?

I will leave Sydney soon and go up north because the weather will be better up there. I'm thinking about becomming a scuba diving instructor but this will cost a lot of money and will take some time. I had a great time so far and met many people. Mainly english people. To start with, i will travel with two english girls in their van. It's going to be much fun. we get everything arranged today and might leave next week. I'm really excited. Love to hear from you guys.

04-27-05

Ok Scott, i think  I think i just update this page for you. I left Sydney and went up north (only a 2 hour drive) to New Castle. This is a pretty nice little town and I really enjoyed a day off here. I went swimming, and took walks on the beach and through the city. I stay in a real nice yha and met nice people there. Today i went on a nice vineyard tour. I tasted about 40 wines. you can imagine how i feel now. But it was wonderfull. The Hunter Valley is very peacefull from what i have expereinced in Sydney the last few days. I really enjoyed it.

I'll move on to Port Stephens tomorrow and watch some Dolphins ( you know how crazy i am about them) and maybe do some hores-back riding on the beach.  I'll let you know how it was when I get the next chance to go online. Have a good one!

05-03-2005

Hey there. I'm in Byron Bay now. It's very nice here and the climate comes very close to the Mississippi one in winter. I have been here now for 3 days but haven't done much. I went to a place where many hippies live and expected them to have a mardisgars with a lot of pot there. But we missed it by one day and all we saw was fucked up people.  I will have to start working soon because I'm running out of money. My next stop will be Brisbane and I try to get work over there. If i have enough money left at the time I might go on a trip to Moreton Island where you can feed the dolphines. This is a pictutre of Byron. Very nice!

05-10-2005

Hey Guys,

I haven't been doing much lately but going out at night and dancing my butt off. This is why I did not experience much during the day. We went to Surfers Paradise after staying in rainy Byron. I missed going on a kajak tour with the dolphins because it was rainy and cold and me too tired. Surfers was allright, but the weather here wasn't much better and this is why we left to go to Brisbane so quick. I need work. Anyway after getting here I found out that I'm not so eager to work in a big city and was going fruitpicking with my english friends and feet the dolphins at Moreton Island. I will do so tomorrow. I'm very excited about that, but you know! There is not very much going on doing fruitpicking the next few weeks, so I asked for work in a hostel. They need bar staff in Surfers, so I will go back there after feeding the Dolphins tomorrow. I have a try out. I never worked in a bar but I think i will do a good job there.  Have a good one!

05-22-2005

I am in Bunderberg now and about to finish my rescue diving course. Bunderberg reminds me much on all the suberbs in Mississippi. Its small, people are friendly and there are a few bars you can go out to and listen to live music or sing the karaoke yourself. I must have been very drunk the other night, I sang father and son, daydream believer and kryptonite. That was no fun for the people listening to me. But I had fun anyway.  Let me explain why I'm not in surfers paradise and why I am not working: The hostel was quite nice, right on the harbour but everybody working there was very unhappy with the boss and the payment they have got. The boss didn't want to pay me the first week and I would not have earned more  than 280 AU Dollers. So, I hang around for a little while and got a feeling if I would feel comfortable there but it was rainy and cold the whole time and this is why i left after 3 days and without working. But it was still fun, I met loads of people and had a great time! I came straight to Bunderberg afterwards and have been here for a week. I decided not to go working and go on with my so called diving career. I don't know what I will do next, but I think the next plan is to move further north and try to find a job up there.

06-03-2005

Here an update for Scott. We'll I'm still in Bundaberg and was plannig on staying here for a while to do my dive master. I became friends with the people at the hostel and the instructors. So I thought it would be nice to stay around for a little while. Thigs have tourned out bad now and I could no start my divemaster because of a sparined foot. One thing leads to another and the diving school closed a day befor i was signing up for the course. Now I just wait around and see what will happen on monday when the shop reopens and changes everything. A few people got fired and the mood here has not been son nice. So i might leave next week.

06-06-2005

Hey guys, i had a wonderful weekend. On Friday I went to a big rodeo event and watched about 40 Cowboys getting their ass whipped by wild horses and bulls. It was so much fun, playing music in the backround "i am a redneck woman" and "bye bye love". The atmospehere reminded me a lot on the south. Well, the weekend was filled with a trip to nice beaches and national parks and looking at the botaniceal gardens in Bundaberg. Relaxing and very beatiful. My plans for the next week and a half are made up. I still wait for my sprained foot to get better and on Saturday I will leave to go to an Island on a 4wdr Tour. I thik its the biggest sand island in the world (Fraser Island).  I will update this page afterwards.

06-20-2005

Fraser was a fantastic Adventure. Ist is very beautiful, let me fill you in with some pictures

I saw dingos, big lizards, turtles, I went swimmig in the most chrystal clear water I've ever seen at Lake Mackenzie, watched the sunraise at 6:34 and got stuck with the 4wdr at Indian Head. It was a great! We spend the nights at the beach camping. It was about 30 of us and during the day we would drive around in our 4wdr with 9-11 people.  I was very tired when we got back but also very happy. I headed back to Bunderberg afterwards to pick up all my stuff and now I'm in Arlie beach, which is the gateway to the Whitsunday Islands, looking for work in hospitality.  My favourite would be to work in a resort on one of the islands. Wish me luck.

07-06-2005

Hey guys, I got the job on Hayman Island. I was working as an room attendat for one week. It was hell on earth. Even if i am in a place which is like paradise. The people are friendly but is hard to find friends and the resort is the best in australia. So it is really srickt and regulated for staff. Here is the website, you might want to have a look on Hayman Island. Anyway, Now I am working in a Boutique and sell nice clothes. It's fun and i will save some money. I'm running out of internet minutes. I'll update you more later

 07-22-2005

Here i am with news. Nothing much happened during the last month. I spend most of my time working. Selling rich people nice stuff. And keeping stores tidy and neat. I went diving a few times and flew on a seaplane. i have been quite healthy, not drinking much and going running quite often. I put in my notice and will leave the island oth the 11th of August to expereince some new adventures. I'm sure I will have more to talk about then. I thing what I have learned from my stay here is that it is not as wonderful living on an island as i thought it was. You are very limited on the peple you ned or on what you can do and see. Anyway news will follow, hopefully soon.

08-12-2005

Back on the mainland. The weather is really bad and I quite sad to leave so many nice people behind. But now I have all the freedom to travel untill I run out of money again. Last night and tonight I will be able to stay with a friend and tomorrow I Head off to magnetic island. I don't know much about it, only that i wanted to see is since I saw a little brochure about it in Sydney. So, we'll see what it brings. I also applied for jobs in Cairns to work on a boat, but I haven't received any answers yet.  There are new photos on "Bilder"

08-15.2005

I went swimming with horses today. It was fantastic. Sad that they have enough workers on that ranch. I would have loved to stay a little while. But unfortunatly will I move on tomorrow to find a job in Cairns. I heard many times now, that it is really hard to find a job there. We'll I cross my fingers to make it happen! Magnetic was fantastic and I'm happy I came here!

08-17-2005

I'm in Cairns. I really like it. A very vibrant but relaxing town. Hopefully I'll be able to find work here. My next adventure is going to be a trip to the great barrier reef. I'm going as a voluntary worker on a dive boat. Check out Diving Jeanette I will let you know how things were when I get back in a week.

08-26-2005

I had a really hard week on the boat and I find out over and over that working can be more exhausting than sitting in an office all day. I'm really tired. I washed dishes most of the time during my trip and went diving at least twice a day. I really enjoyed the diving. I saw many sharks, lionfish, Clownfishes and many many more. We went to many gerat dive sites. That was brilliant. I'm still rocking in the chair, writing that email. it feels really wierd to be back on land after a week abroad. I'm still jobhunting and try to get on a boat again. If i have to do as many dishes as I did last week, I'll be over it.

09-02-2005

I'm so worried about everyone in the US. How are things in Mobile, Mississippi and around. I've got a message from Luke that his mother isn't doing well at all. I've heard from Nana that all the Casinos are gone and from Lisa that the Bayou is totally damaged too. It is so sad. Scott, wehn you read that, please let me know how you, Ray and mom are. Here things have went very well. I moved up to POrt Doulas which is in the very North of Australia. Very tropic climate. I like it. I have found work on a boat called Aristocat and also try to get a second job on Sailaway III . If I do two jobs I'll be fine to save some money. I am working as a hostess. Taking care of passangers, setting up food and drinks and take them on a snorkelling tour. It is much fun. I have moved in with a dive instuctor and enjoy to have a steady home and not to wake up in a room full of strangers every morning. So everything is allright here. Please let me know if you are allright too.

09-08-2005

So I heard from everyone that you guys in the US are quite allright. I'm happy about that. Here things have changed a litte bit. I am working full  time with Sailaway now. It is more relaxing and the crew is much smaller. The days are easy and I'm happy thin my choice. I went to a fortune teller the other day. She gave me great news . More I won't tell you. I just sit here and wait how things will develop.

09-15-2005

Scott, I hear all about your efford in the US. Nana writes me about it and we are reallly proud of you. Here in Australia nothing much happened. I'm only working with Sailaway now. 5 to 6 times a week. It is really exhausting but I like it. The weather is fantastic and people are always happy. We swim with the turtles every day and the beach is hot as hell. All like I want it. I bought a bike today and i'll be riding to work with it. Even if i have been in Australia quite a while I still can't say that it feels like home. I miss my friends in germany and the friends I have in the US. It is not the same riding in a boat in Australia. Of course it is prettier and more organized but I don't have the same feeling than going on a boat in the waters of Mississippi. We'll ill update you soon again. Take care.

10-25-2005

I know, I know. No updates from me in a while. Not much is happening. I'm still working on the boat, meet many intersting people on there and hava a great time. Yesterday was a bit different. It was really exciting. We ended up being in a storm. Alex, our skipper sensed that much earlier than me. Good we have him on board! And I had to save coushions in the wind, waves and rain. Like in the movies. It was a nice diffrence to the very hot and beautiful weather we had for the last 2 months.Other than that. I still haven't been diving but explered the rainforest a little bit and enjoyed my days of with manly hanging around and organizing things. Talking about that.. I'm organizing my next travels at the moment. I'll leave the tropical Port Douglas and head towards Alice Springs and Ayers Rock at the end of November. Thats the desert. just for a change and a few days and then towards Perth where I will be staying a while. From what I reckon would it be more a mediteranian climate.. but I let you know when I get there.  Don't forget my B-day on the 1st of November. Until then I will do some more snorkeling.

11- 14-2005

Still in Port Douglas but now unemploed. I like it. I had a wonderful time at the boat but at the end the heat was really taking it out on me.  It's mu fouth day without work and after a big party and a one and a half day hangover recover I'm getting bored. So my plan is to go to the Daintree for the next 3 days. A little bit of rainforest will be a nice change. When I come back I will spend a lot of time with my new friends before I leave them again and also do some more diving and snorkeling. I think about it all the time the downside of travelling is that you meet so many nice people, then you stay longe enough to get to know and to love them and then you leave them again. And then I have friends missing me and i miss them. It does not matter where in the world I am. And i can't be in 3 countries at the same time. Sometimes I wanna know where I'm gonna be. But the thing is I am here now and I want to enjoy the time here. Although i miss u guys from the US or people in Germany and soon the people here from Port Douglas as well.

11-29-2005

In the desert. It's pertty boring here and with a sprained foot ( yes, again) you cant do really much. I went camel riding, I'm gonna paint something with the aboriginies tonight and will eat in the desert with an event called sound of silence. I have one minute left to write. all follow ups will come from perth.

12-02-2005

I'm in Perth now. My base for at least 2 months. Its was a very diffrent feeling coming here. The wather is much colder and the Water has surf, the Feemantle Doctor scared me a away from Cottesloe beach. I hope it will warm up soon. I had a quick drive through the city when Petra picked me up from the Airport. It's the biggest City I've been in since Brisbane, which I was 6 months ago. I guess my live might change here qite a lot. A good Chance to not be that shocked when I go back to Germany? I don't know. My time in the desert turned out to be much fun at the end. I met a few people working there and we did nice things together. Went out to Dinner, rode on the deserts, roads and drank a lot. It was really a good time. NowI I will see what Perth has to offer.

12-31-2005

Last day of the year. And what can I tell you??? 2006 is going to be just amazing. I  have a feeling in my stomach about that.Sorry I haven't written in so long. I had a few highlights since I've gotten here. It was so great when my boyfriend from Port Douglas came over for a visit as well as some friends. We had a fantastic time. Went on tours, went out at night, cooked and went sailing. All you need for a fantastic time. Now, my sister is here and we've been having a great time too. I haven't had the chance in ages to catch up with her like we do here. Tonight we are all busy to make us pretty for the change of the year. I wish you all a happy new year and remember... it can always get better!

01-24-2006

24 Days in the new year and what are you thinking? Is it getting better? I'm quite happy here. I moved back to Port Douglas after having a nice trip with mys sister all over Western Australia. This trip was one of the best experiences here in Australia. Wonderfull empty beaches. Swimming with manta rays, watching a turtle laying its eggs, going swimming in so many swimming holes, climbing, hiking and sleeping in the desert. It was a very adventureous trip which I'll keep as great memories. We flew back from Broome to Perth on the 14th and my sister an me left perth on the 18th to either go back to germany or to come here. I'm thinking about migrating to Australia but it is very hard. We'll see what the next few weeks will bring. Otherwise i will back in Germany in mid march

01-29-2006

the spider

Just yesterday I got bitten by this uglay looking Spider. Its is not a dangerous one. But being from germany I had no idea what it was when i feelt dizzy and sick afterwards. The abulance came to check, just to make sure that I had no allergic reaction to it. That was excitement. how ironic.. I just came from atrip where I was in teh wild with spiders, snakes and scorpions and here i am in Port Douglas and get bitten by a spider drinving home from grocery shopping. I feel fine now. So you all don't need to worry. I have not come very far withmy plan to immigrate but I'm working hard on it. That means spending hours in from of the computer, collecting informations and applying for jobs. Which me luck!

02-05-2006

hello hello its me again. I had a long day at work. To get some money I am working on a boat. Have a look at Silversonic. Here I am a hostess und cater for the people on board and sometimes do a snorkel tour with them. It is ok but I am still looking for a company that will be able to sponsor me. That means a company puts me on a contract for a time usually 2 years and I can stay in owrk in Australia only with them. It's a good deal. I'm still working on it and have not given up yet. But it is not easy. Even if a company wants to sponsor me, the do have to fulfill a few requirements. So do I. so that's my news. So from now on I'll be working much to fill up my pocket with money again and hope and pray for a sponsorship.

03-06-2006

I still have now news on where my life is going or where I'm gonna be in about 3 weeks. I have opportunities but nothing definite yet. As soon as I know where I will be in the next month I will update you. I want to stay but not for every price. I want to be happy in life, we'll see where the road is taking me.
